Hurvator Employee Shows Great Nerve At Merom Station
Clarence Kaufman, 23, saved a fellow worker from fatal injury at the Merom wheat elevator Saturday by bracing against a concrete wall and pulling the machinery out of gear. He suffered a broken arm and a badly wrenched shoulder, with doctors noting muscles nearly pulled from his shoulder. Kaufman is six feet tall and 200 pounds and was oiling the engine when power was applied.
