The clothing firm of John W. Wolfe & Son sold their business to Ira Glidden and J. F. Douthitt, both longtime local merchants. Douthitt, a former deputy county treasurer and Wolfe employee, and Glidden, a veteran in Woods' clothing sales, take over last Saturday. Winfield Wolfe and his father announced no future plans.

New Sunday Train On E I Road Elates Travelers
A new timetable takes effect Sunday on the Frisco lines with minor changes except on the E I division. The EE I road will add a first regular Sunday train between Washington and Evansville with a round trip one way fare. Henry H. Smith of Jackson township visited the city for a Union reception and is a sheriff candidate on the Republican ticket. Hazel McClanahan travels to Sault Ste. Marie to join the Chicago Stock Company where sister Mrs Charles Ross Kam has a role.

Robber Caught In The act at Leachs Saloon
Jeff Draper attempted to steal about $112 from Leach's saloon on East Washington Street. Proprietor Levi Leach and Ed Leach detained him, Marshal Willis arrived and jailed Draper for grand larceny awaiting preliminary hearing. Draper, a Sullivan native, has a history of legal troubles.

Bust of Voorhees Unveiling at Sullivan Library Planned
The unveiling of a bust of Daniel W. Voorhees will be held Monday June 4 at 4 p.m. in Sullivan. The event features remarks by Claude G. Bowers and John T. Death of Roscoe C. Davis in this city
Roscoe C. Davis, 15, son of Mr and Mrs Benjamin Davis, died Monday morning at home from heart trouble after years of illness. Taken to California two years ago for health, improvement proved temporary. He was the couple's only son and was greatly beloved. his untimely end brings deep sorrow to the family.

Two Sullivan Boys Run Wireless Telegraph Setup
Two Sullivan school boys Raymond Carnes and Emerson Krug operate a wireless telegraph apparatus with stations behind the Methodist parsonage and atop Krug's barn. They observe flashes in a glass tube receiver and aim to refine the system for accurate message sending. Professor F. M. Price has also run wireless telegraph equipment across the school building linking a cupola to the laboratory, with lightning distant signals detectable in the instrument.

Roscoe, once healthy and a student here, left school due to illness after showing a knack for mechanics. His father bought a car months ago, which the youth learned to operate. A Presbyterian member since age nine, he attended church under Rev. A W Sonne. Funeral services were held at the residence conducted by Rev J H Sammis with burial at Center Ridge Cemetery.

Will H Pigg's Father Killed in buggy accident
Jasonville May 28 Joseph Pigg stock man was thrown from a buggy while traveling to Coal mont. His horse ran away. Pigg died from jaw injuries and facial gashes. He leaves a widow three daughters and one son Attorney Will H. Pigg of Sullivan is his son. He was about 60.

Lightning Strikes Pleasantville Home Causing Damage
During a heavy storm in Pleasantville on Sunday evening the residence of George Miller was struck by lightning. The chimney flue tore down and window casings and door frames splintered but the house did not burn. No one was home. The telephone switchboard and every telephone in Pleasantville burned out.

Baseball game at Coffman’s park Sunday ends with Brazil beating Sullivan 3 to 1. The contest was close with defensive pitching and timely hits. Sullivan will play Hymera Invincible Blues next Sunday.

Farmer William Riggs Severely Injured in Wagon Accident
William Riggs a Fairbanks Township farmer was badly hurt last Friday when a team jerked him from a wagon loaded with corn. The wagon passed over his body breaking his right shoulder and tearing five ribs from the spine. He was found unconscious by John Gross and taken to his home. Exact injuries were not yet known.
