Escaped convict Runyon arrested by Linton authorities
Charles Runyon alias Chas Livingston and Charles Steele an escaped convict from the Jeffersonville Reformatory were arrested in Linton last Saturday. Runyon had worked in Vermillion and Me rom areas, posed as a church worker, and was linked to a silk theft case and a horse theft near Merom. Investigators identified him through multiple local leads and a May theft pattern, with a reward previously offered for information.

Runaway Accident Injures Harve Crowder at Fair Grounds
Harve Crowder was severely injured in a runaway horse and buggy incident at the fair grounds last Saturday afternoon. The horse bolted, the buggy overturned, and Crowder was thrown, hitting his head and shoulders before being taken home in a semi comatose state until morning.

The Southern Indiana line from Black Hawk to Hymera will bypass Washington Indiana and pass near Petersburg and Oakland City to spur growth by bringing the railroad to new towns.
