Treasurer Arrested for Embezzlement in Steel Tipple Local Case
Everett E. Chambers 45 of Shelburn was arrested at his home by Constable Linkenholker on a charge of embezzling 100 dollars from the Steel Tipple Miners Local 1044. He posted 500 dollar bond after an affidavit filed by the local, with allegations of a January shortfall and prior shortfall makeup.

Tragic Train Death In Pimento Injures Local Youth
Arthur Brown an 18 year old son of James M Brown of Keller was struck by a south bound C and E I train south of Pimento about midnight last Wednesday and died shortly after in the Pimento depot. He had spent the day in Terre Haute with a friend named Johnson and they rode a freight to Shelburn. After being set off at Spring Hill they walked along the track. Brown sat on a tie to rest as a south bound passenger train passed, Johnson returned to find Brown injured and bleeding. He later died from a crushed skull. Brown was one of thirteen children. his death is the seventh in the family.
