Carlisle Democrat editor Homer Bailey dies after surgery
Homer Bailey longtime editor of the Carlisle Democrat and Johnstown Democrat died at 4 PM in Johnstown Pennsylvania following abdominal surgery. He built the Carlisle Democrat into a leading paper with his brother Warren Worth Bailey. Bailey, 54, was born February 1 1858 in Indiana and had worked at several papers including Bloomington Daily Leader and Normal Normal Advocate before joining the Johnstown paper. He was active in Knights of Pythias Elks and many civic groups and was a Democrat who supported Bryan and Parker in national conventions. He is survived by his widow two children Byron Dean Bailey and Billeen Van Zandt one brother Warren Worth Bailey one sister and an adopted daughter Miss Bessie Bailey.

Stibbens Brothers Acquitted In Murder Trial
Bloomfield April 28 The Stibbens brothers Edward and Kay were acquitted by a jury of murdering their father George W. Stibbens. The crowded courtroom erupted in cheers as the verdict was read at 515 this morning after six ballots. The family planned to return to Knox county, with the mother expressing relief at the truth being found. The jury ignored the jail conversation records as too fragmentary.

Death of Mrs Rex Drummond at Vincennes station
Mrs Leota Drummond aged 22 wife of Rexford Drummond died soon after removal from an eastbound B and O S W train at Vincennes. She was daughter of Mr and Mrs M R Jones of Oaktown and survived by husband parents two sisters and was a member of the M FE church and Eastern Star. Funeral and burial were at Mt Carmel Illinois.

Bicknell Boy Killed as Auto Crash in St Louis
The April 29 crash at Washington Boulevard and Taylor Avenue killed Riley Young, 16, a unicycle rider and touring car passenger. Seven others were injured including Frank Brown, driver. Roscoe Forbes and Edward Parker, both drivers, and Chester Borntraeger, 16, with various injuries.
