The blast tore the 24 foot square mill apart throwing Gorby 350 yards and burning workers. Coroner and crowds assisted at the scene as investigators sorted the tragedy.

Pioneer coal miner Uncle Bob Stewart dies at 84
Uncle Robert Stewart a Shelburn resident for years died Monday at his daughter’s home in Cannonsburg Pennsylvania. He was 84 and the son of Scottish immigrants who helped sink early mines in Evansville and Shelburn. A Civil War veteran with service in the Missouri Infantry he later ran the Stewart House hotel and remained devoted to Memorial Day visits to his wife’s grave in Shelburn. Funeral at Fletcher’s Chapel Friday with burial in Shelburn.

No regular afternoon train to Vincennes from Washington. arrangements may be made for delegates to travel east after the convention. Urie Decker Arrested for Illegal Selling in Dugger
Urie Decker once of this city ran a soft drink parlor at Dugger and was arrested Thursday on a charge of conducting a blind tiger. Prosecutor Wood filed the complaint at the instance of Dugger residents who allege illegal liquor sales and describe the tiger as unusually tame.
