Monon Makes a Big Offer to Indiana Coal Route

The New York Commercial reports Monon Railway offered Indianapolis Southern Railway 100000 for its Indianapolis franchise. Indianapolis Southern officials deny confirming but say the franchise will not be given up and the line will be built within nine months to a year. Death of Nancy Mason Aged 84 At Home of Daughter

Nancy Mason died Thursday at her daughter’s residence near Sullvan of apoplexy. She was 84 and a lifelong M E church member, mother to Andy Benjamin and Thomas Mason. Funeral at East Chapel Saturday morning conducted by Rev Willis of New Lebanon. burial in Paxton cemetery.

Awful Adventure Sees Brakeman Survive Wire Strike

W A Austin a brakeman on an east bound Illinois Central freight escaped death when a telephone wire hung across the track struck him on crossing two west of New Lebanon. The wire burned his face neck eyes and arms and dragged him atop the car. He grabbed the car edge to avoid being run under the train. The broken wire saved him from a worse fate. He is from Palestine Illinois.

Cushman Turman Wedding Near Graysville Indiana

The ceremony joined Guy A Cushman and Harriett A Turman at the bride’s home two miles southwest of Graysville. Rev McNaughton officiated.
