Obituary of Jonathan Jewell 1830 1907 Indiana Family
Jonathan Jewell was born October 25 1830 and died July 8 1907 at age 76 years 9 months and 12 days. He married Susannah Clark October 25 1850 and eight children were born, seven living: Maria Isabel Brock Lydia A Trueblood Elizabeth C Jewell Bailey Jewell William S Jewell Thomas A Jewell Mary E Hood Joshua Jewell the eldest died March 3 1873. He was a Christian who joined the Gospel under Uncle John Bailey at Old Pleasant Green. He suffered cancer for 12 years and expressed readiness for death during a home service. Funeral at Douglas chapel with Rev William O Neal burial there.

No Agreement Seems Likely on One Point in Indiana Coal Talks
A stormy session of the ex executive committee of operators and mine workers in Terre Haute Indiana ends with a deadlock over reinstatement of a Little Giant mine committeeman near Linton. The top coal issue was settled but the reinstatement dispute blocks unity. A joint committee will decide coal top issues and a Rosebud mine dispute is resolved by rehiring discharged miners without pay. A state mining laws meeting with Governor Hanry is scheduled Friday.

Tax refund underway in Farmersburg on illegal tax
