Dixie B Line Route Changes Stir Farmersburg Debate
The Dixie B Line north from Farmersburg faces renewed scrutiny as the State Highway Commission reportedly shifts the route east through Farmersburg to join the old north road. Proponents cite shorter distance and fewer crossings, while opponents who backed last year’s west edge route allege higher costs and extra crossings at Youngstown Seifert and near Farmersburg. A damages suit by Hardy McClanahan was settled for four hundred dollars with local supporters funding the payout.
