The first successful ovarian transfer occurred in 1809 by Dr Ephraim McDowell at Danville Kentucky on Mrs Jane Crawford who later died in Sullivan County and was buried in Johnson Cemetery. The National Medical Association moves to honor McDowell and Mrs Crawford with monuments in Danville and Center Ridge Cemetery.

Allen, lifelong resident, and leaves wife Alice Hughes Allen and four children plus parents and a brother Rev Hayden H. Allen. Funeral Thursday at 10 AM from New Lebanon Methodist church with Rev Caylor officiating. burial at Center Ridge cemetery.
