Uncle James Morin Dies in Hutsonville

James M. Morin a former county resident died February 16 at his Hutsonville home after a brief pneumonia illness. A Civil War veteran of Co F 57th Indiana Infantry he was born December 25 1825 in Kentucky and moved to Indiana as a child. He married Mary Wade in 1867 and left a wife, four children, two stepsons, a sister and seventeen grandchildren.

Governor pardons Andrew Hicks from petit larceny sentence

Governor Goodrich issued a pardon for Andrew Hicks, formerly in the United States Navy and now serving six months at the penal farm for a petit larceny conviction. Oldest County Woman Dies at 107 Eleanor Combes Passes

Mrs. Eleanor Combes aged 107, the oldest woman in the county, died Friday morning. Her passing marks the end of a long life noted by neighbors and local residents. She is survived by relatives and will be remembered in a forthcoming obituary.

Oldest Indiana native Eleanor Combes dies at 107 near Linton

Eleanor Combes 107 year old Greene county resident died after a stroke at her son Wiley Gambill's home southeast of Linton. Born Eleanor McGrew in Salem Washington County in October 1809 she lived near Cass township her entire life. She married Morgan Gambill at twenty, had nine children, then widowed, later married William Combes. Surviving children number five with 36 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren and 24 great great grandchildren. The funeral was at Antioch Christian church conducted by Rev W B Taylor.
