The 3 year old daughter of J J Orr swallowed a matting tack after grabbing it. Doctors prescribed mashed potatoes but the child survived a day and night of worry. Next day she was out of danger and seemingly none the worse for attempting to digest iron.

January Term Docket Set for Sullivan Circuit Court
The Sullivan circuit court January term docket nears completion with 182 civil and 139 criminal cases slated for trial. Fire at Jackson Street House Extinguished by Fire Dept
A small morning blaze at 5 45 yesterday in a Jackson Street residence occupied by Kirk Racey between Dr Crowly’s office and Meisenhelder’s mill was put out by the fire department. The building owned by S Paul Poynter had no insurance.
