Fatal Shooting at Little Giant Mine
Miners John Hall and John O Malley, living in adjacent houses at the Little Giant mine, quarrelled after a night of drinking. Hall fired three times with a 22 caliber revolver, striking O Malley, who may die, while Mrs O Malley sustained a sprained shoulder from her husband's violence. Hall says self defense.

Railroad survey eyed for Brazil to Vincennes line
Preparations by the Indianapolis and Louisville Railway Company a Big Four branch plan a survey to lay a new railroad path from Brazil through Clay City Jasonville entering Sullivan county at Antioch to Dugger Pleasantville then on to Freelandsville and Vincennes. The line would pass Sullivan county with the Big Four mines and M E Ingalls of Cincinnati presiding over talks. The project, discussed a year ago, was revived at a Big Four meeting to estimate construction costs.
