Pirates on the Mississippi and a Paper Hanger Detectives

Philo Gubb, a paper hanger and detective, trains Greasy as his helper to chase pirates along the Mississippi river near Riverbank. A pirate craft raids Silver Sides and Jane P. boats. Gubb and Billy Getz uncover a hidden pirate hideout using a painted forest screen on Hog Island and capture the crew, with Gubb earning a $100 reward. The tale blends comic detection with riverfront mishaps and Small-town heroism.
