Miss Amelia Hunt daughter of Dr and Mrs John W Hunt of this city married Friday in Memphis to R KE Roberts of Union City Tennessee. Roberts works in the grain business in Memphis and will relocate to Newburn where the couple will reside. Mrs Roberts had been visiting her brother Dr Clyde Hunt in Memphis for months and the wedding came as a surprise to the Hunts.

Carlisle Grand Jury Indicts Gaming House Operators

A Carlisle grand jury last week indicted Rush Trimble Joe Wallace Steve Dooley for keeping a gaming house and named several others suspected of aiding the game. Bonds were set at 100 dollars each and about fifty witnesses testified. The case follows recent bets and a squeal that brought Sheriff Kelley and local men to act.
