Chief of Police warned a man to leave after he was lured by a cure advertised as great European remedy. The doctor returned later, dined at a hotel, and left by the eastbound Illinois Central train with a secretary. The Union had refused publication of such ads, though the main specialist later tried to pay for insertion.
Promoters of a fraudulent medical campaign were exposed after a city test visit at the Davis hotel. A fake Indianapolis doctor named W B Clarke admitted fraud, refused to answer, and agreed to leave the city with the next traction car after police questioning and a warning from Prosecuting Attorney Bays.
The so called representatives of the Progressive Medical Specialists advertised to visit Farmersburg today from Richey's hotel. They were forced to cease operations in this city on Thursday and are not likely to go to Farmersburg due to prior experience here. The group were said to be killed at Linton for Friday but did not appear.
At a Sullivan County Masonic hall meeting, preliminary steps formed the Sullivan County Past Masters Association to include all county Masons who have presided over lodges. First meeting slated for Dec 26 at 1 pm with conferring of Past Master degrees and a supper. list of signatories from multiple lodges follows. John A. Curry signs off with further discussion on Montana winds and homestead relinquishments.
The anti Cullop movement against Congressman William A. Cullop gains momentum as Democrats in several counties, including Knox and Vincennes, consider nominating alternatives such as Charles T. Akin, Charles D. Hunt, Robert W. Miers, or Alvin J. Padgett. Meetings across the second district push for a new candidate while Cullop fights to retain the seat amid shifting party loyalties. Separately a county wide farmers association forms in Sullivan with a December 18 meeting to unite agricultural interests for educational, social, and financial gains.
Mrs. C. C. Carr, who had been visiting in Dayton, Ohio, has returned home.

Ohio Oil and partners hit a producer on the Joe Merrill farm in Fairbanks township and another at John W. Shepherd farm in Turman township. W. Co. Kennedy Oil struck a 250 barrel producer on Lafayette Dix farm with two large gas pockets.
Job Freeman a well known coal operator spending winter in New Smyrna Florida fell from a bridge spanning a river. He fractured two ribs and was injured as rescuers pulled him from twenty five feet of water with the tide coming in. He is now recovering.
Roy Ransford a 23 year old resident of Turman township was fatally burned when he tried to restart a stove with coal oil. The blast enveloped his body igniting his clothing as his wife and child watched. He died about four hours later.
W S Douthitt a Jefferson township farmer owns an English shepherd noted for intelligence. The dog carries money to designated workers, scratching doors to deliver it and returning home. He has also fetched a neighbor when a horse was ill and never loses a coin on trips.
Dr Caleb M Louder a prominent Dugger physician died at his home about 1 o clock Tuesday morning after a five day illness from heart disease. A 1881 Indiana Medical College graduate he practiced nearly thirty years and held roles on the County Pension Examiners Board and Dugger State Bank board. He is survived by his wife and two daughters Verna Hammock and Lotus Louder and was brother to Dr H M Louder of Bloomfield.
Mr and Mrs Claude Nelson and family of Colorado Springs are visiting Mrs Nelsons parents Mr and Mrs John W Shepherd. The visit highlights family ties in the region.
