Palestine August 21 Urie Decker 75 a coal miner died after a rock fall in a Kansas mine. His wife Mollie Garner said the death cause was concussion of the brain. She received $400 from the coal company. A divorced wife attended the funeral.

Dan A Frakes longtime Curry township resident dies
Dan A Frakes a well known Curry township resident and former assessor died at his Shelburn home after a brief illness from blood poisoning caused by a lodged fish bone. Born February 23, 1853 in Fairbanks township, he was 59 years old. He chaired local Democratic politics, led Lions Den No 35, farmed most of his life, and is survived by his wife, son Eugene in Cuba government service, daughter Dora Douglas, mother Mary King, and several siblings. Burial will be at Liberty cemetery tomorrow afternoon.

Man Slashes Throat in Vigo Jail Ward Death
Floyd V. Stansil aged 37 suffered a mental breakdown while jailed in Terre Haute. He severed his throat with a broken bottle Friday night in the Vigo jail hospital ward and died soon after at St. Anthony's hospital. Survived by his wife and two sisters, the funeral was held at the Beasley home with burial at Center Ridge cemetery.
