Improvements Planned for Methodist Church Structures
The official board of the Methodist church plans improvements costing about 2500 dollars. Work will await after the annual conference in a month. A new six foot cement sidewalk will be laid in front of the church and parsonage. The plan includes moving the partition between church and Sunday school room, making the Sunday school two stories with four classrooms above and two below. Sliding partitions will separate rooms. A gallery on the second floor front will be added with seating for 400, and the front church platform will be semi circular to allow the pulpit to shift west, reducing its proximity to the organ.

A gasoline fire at the rear of Frank M. Dale’s jewelry store on the south side of the public square caused severe stock damage and threatened the building. Will Crowder worked at the store when a clock works batch caught fire from an alcohol blaze. firemen arrived quickly to extinguish it using water and chemicals. Dale had insurance on the stock and fixtures.

Stole Pony Rig Actually Recovered. 10 Year Old Arrested
A pony rig belonging to Tom Taylor from northeast of the city was stolen at Coffman's park while a circus was in town. Sheriff Kelley and Chief Smith traced a rig matching the description to Cass and arrested Ralph Daniels ten, son of John Daniels, on theft charges after locating the rig there. Daniels allegedly attempted to sell the rig for ten dollars.
