Child Drowns After Fall From Merom Houseboat
A three year old son of Mr and Mrs John Rosebolt of the Wabash river north of Merom drowned Friday morning after apparently falling from a houseboat where the family resides. The child vanished as the parents searched the boat and nearby willows, then was found downstream and pronounced dead by Dr J J Parker. Miss Nellie Orr of Barr Dry Goods Co St Louis visits Shelburn relatives during vacation.

Distinguished Indianapolis Lawyer Bays Dies After Illness
John S. Bays leading city attorney and state corporation lawyer died at his home after months of illness from cancer of the liver. Born January 27, 1850 in Point Commerce Indiana he practiced law in Worthington Bloomfield Los Angeles and finally Indianapolis. He helped consolidate southern Indiana coal mines and served on the board of directors of the Southern Hospital for the Insane. Survived by wife Hettie and three sons Fred Lee and Harold C Bays. Funeral at the Methodist church with Odd Fellows and Elks assistance. Burial at Center Ridge Cemetery.
