William H. Hill Sr., 76, well known Sullivan resident and former grain and cattle businessman, was found dead by his daughter Miss Bessie Hill in a barn door area. Death attributed to apoplexy after a stroke while doing chores. Survived by siblings, sons Will Jr and Edward, daughters Bessie, Mrs Roy Cowles and Mrs Donald Basler. Funeral held Sunday at residence with Christian church minister and Sullivan Masonic lodge. Burial at Center Ridge.

After a three day trial in the circuit court the jury ruled for Elbert Anderson in a ten thousand dollar alienation suit brought by John Prose. The verdict followed about three hours of deliberation and drew a packed courtroom for Carlisle and Terre Haute participants. Woman Sets Fire with Gasoline Then Burns Likely Fatal
Shelburn April 7 A mistake in grabbing a gasoline can instead of kerosene to light a fire left Mrs Z Gray badly burned as flames caught her clothing. Neighbors doused the blaze and her daughter Mrs Lester Anderson of Vincennes hastened to her bedside. Her son Dolly Gray studies at Rose Polytechnic in Terre Haute. Mrs Gray died Tuesday.
