Shortly before noon today a statement from Hinn explained his resignation as a Pennsylvanian member of the National Committee, saying he quit because he did not want to serve. The Taft plan led the convention committee on permanent organization to recommend making the temporary organization permanent, with Senator Ony as permanent Chairman to avoid a test vote and save time. The credentials committee sorted delegate results as the convention held a four minute session and seated two Taft delegates from Ninth Alabama, 34 to 14, before recess at 12 06 p.m.
