The Star prints Gen D A Hollingsworth's nomination to represent Ohio's Sixteenth district in the next House. After 36 years of seeking office, the Harrison County native vows to serve in Congress, having previously declined other party honors and served in the State Senate and as attorney general. Roy Winters who escaped Hancock county jail two weeks ago was recaptured in Wheeling Wednesday night and returned to Hancock county Thursday afternoon with Sheriff Wilkins. Fred Bird and Arthur Thompson, arrested with Winters, received 30 day workhouse terms after trial. In a Georgetown preliminary hearing Emanuel Peach links William Peach and himself to the murder of Steve Smith at a cabin near Bakewell Coal Works. Captain Hummell testified Peach admitted the elder Peach stabbed Smith to save his nephew, and William Peach then pleaded guilty to murder.

Thomas S Long of Steubenville Jefferson County Ohio requests a full discharge from all debts provable against his estate under federal bankruptcy acts. He states he was adjudged bankrupt November 13, and has surrendered property and complied with all requirements. Dated December 17, 1907.
