Sterling High Welcomes Norwegian Exchange Student Frode Fieldberg
Frode Fieldberg, an eighteen-year-old from Oslo, is this year’s foreign exchange student at Sterling High School. He has served as student council president, will study calculus chemistry French English and art, and plans to join cross country and basketball. He notes Norway’s car taxes and public transit, finds American friendliness high, and hopes to share Norwegian customs through SCRIPT articles.

Teachers and students tour Europe with Clark University program
A group of six Sterling students and six teachers joined 240 students from across the U S for a five week Europe trip sponsored by the American Leadership Study Groups of Clark University. The tour began June 30 at O’Hare then JFK to London with lectures on government and culture and stops at major sites including Buckingham Palace and the London Underground.

Seven attend Boys State and European tour described
Seven STHS boys attended Premier Boys State of Illinois at the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield with tours through London Stratford and Belgium. The trip included visits to Shakespeare sites in London, Ostend and Brussels, Cologne, Heidelberg, Innsbruck, Venice Florence and Rome with landmarks, a Tyrolean festival, gondola ride, pope audience, and Pompeii excursion.
