Y Opens New Center With Dedicatory Dance
The Sterling Rock Falls Y M C A dedicates a remodeled building on October 19 and plans a wide program for all ages. Hi Y clubs and nonclub activities include calisthentics, team games, boxing, swimming, lifeguard training, and coed events. A 21 inch TV lounge and dances are to follow with a busy youth-centered schedule led by local leaders.

The Sophomore class met September 26 to elect officers. Pete Andrews was chosen president, Harold Hussing as vice president, Jim Eshleman secretary, Neal Pentious treasurer, and Ronald Sonneman student council representative.

S. H. S. Hosts Northern Illinois Conference Music Festival
The Northern Illinois Conference Music Festival will be held November 15 in the S. H. S. field house Sterling marks its first hosting. Ten conference schools participate Hall Sterling Rock Falls Dixon Ottawa Geneseo Princeton Mendota Rochelle De Kalb. The day includes rehearsals then an 8 15 p m concert with 150 member band directed by Dr Alvin Edgar and a 300 voice choir directed by Brynolf of Augustana College. About 20 from our school band and 50 boys 24 girls from our school choir attend.
