Homecoming Queen to be Crowned Tonight

Sterling High announces the homecoming queen nominees and events for the big night. Five finalists are Ann Burkholder, Joan Bowers, Mary Saunders, Phyllis Holloway, and Billie Speer, with a snake dance, bonfire, parade, and a Tower Building dance to follow.

Dramatic Club Forms Rules and Plans Homecoming Parade

The Dramatic Club held its first meeting on September 22 with Dave Swehla as president. Members must meet attendance, activity, and dues requirements and be sophomores or older. A social committee and a Homecoming float committee were named, and Mr. Clopper announced the November 12 play.

Do Re Mi By Charlice Buyers At Sterling High School Choir

The Sterling Township High School Robed Choir performed September 30 for a Polio Benefit at Sterling Theater. Soloists Mary Espinoza and Ron Newell sang Anywhere I Wander. Ride the Chariot featured John DeWind Charlice Buyers Mary Espinoza Nancy. The Choir may entertain at the Teacher's Institute in Dixon on October 28.

Camera Club Seeks Members and Equipment Upgrades

The Camera Club meets every other Thursday after school in the chemistry room with 15 members and growing. Officers elected include Joe Burkholder as president and Lee Tyne as vice president. The treasury exceeds one hundred dollars. The group requests a stroblight, darkroom materials, and a 4 by 5 enlarger or 5 by 7 enlarger. Next meeting is October 29.
