A massed chorus of about three hundred, a girls chorus, mixed chorus, and a combined band will present multiple selections, with participation from Dixon DeKalb Rochelle Rock Falls Princeton Mendota Ottawa Hall Township Geneseo and Sterling.
The Driving Council named Owen Mills as president Joan Bowers as vice president and Ann Burkholder as secretary with advisor Mr Schick. It aims to erect traffic signs near the school and create a driving course for freshmen and sophomores next year. Members include Dick Johnson Don Small Donna Wheelock Neta Bowman Joanne Dettman Neil Brown Bob Brown Wilfred Hester Merle Johnson and the officers.
The Camera Club reports their dark room is remodeled for easier use. Advisors Mr. Strenge and Mr. Sherman have worked hard to enable the group to shoot almost any type of picture. Members feature new cameras and practice to improve photography skills.
Twenty three girls were initiated into Future Teachers on October 9. A pot luck supper accompanied a candlelight installation service. Ten members attended the County Teacher's Institute at Morrison and four attended the State Teacher's Institute at Dixon. A bake sale by club members on October 31 was very successful.
Mr Edelman invites all SHS students and country newcomers to start or restart musical instrument study. He aims to give inclusive lessons for those who never played or lost interest, hoping many discover lifelong enjoyment. The SHS Band has performed at home football games and plans a May spring concert.
