Warriors End Gridiron Season Undefeated
Sterling Township Golden Warriors completed their best season since 1949 with an undefeated run, despite a 14-14 tie with Mendota in a non conference clash. They outscored opponents 251 to 41, averaging 28 points and holding foes to under a touchdown per game, with Mendota the only team to score more than one touchdown. Seventeen seniors played their last game as Geneseo spoiled perfection, while Belvidere and a non conference slate showcased the Warriors early and late in the year.

Wrestling Season Opens Saturday at Rock Island
The first wrestling meet of the year is set for Rock Island on November 27 with the season’s home opener December 10 against Pekin.
