Interesting Assembly Scheduled For May 9

Mr. Jesse Phillips Robertson a musician and lecturer will speak in the 8 H auditorium on Thursday May 9. He will exhibit ancient instruments from Palestine Syria and Egypt including the rhubabi long neck flute silver trumpet and shoulder harp and sing with them. He calls his display Song Hits of 1945 B C and will wear Palestine shepherd garb.

Seniors Plan Chicago Trip With May 15 Departure

The senior class schedules a May 15 trip to Chicago. Highlights include visits to Rosemwald Museum Tribune Tower and Marshall Field and Co. with several Loop area stores. Committee members are Joy Pepper chair Lola Dirks Bob Barnett Lola Stern Carmen Grewe Jerry Linton Walter Snyder and Gene Bell.

Annual Banquet Honors Roman Theme At High School

The Romani Hodierni sponsors a April 30 banquet in the high school auditorium with Bugle call invocation and a program of musical numbers. Freshmen supplied garlands and perfumes as courtly guests enjoyed a mock Mount Olympus tour led by narrators and performers including Peggy Beach Benita Pabst and Joyce Blum. The show featured a Roman history skit directed by Dick Eikenberry and a list of stage and decor committees led by Benita Pabst Bert Bull and Mary Stewart among others.

Sterling Township High School Robed Choir travels to DeKalb for the Sectional Chorus Contest under Mrs. Eades. They will perform Oh Lord and Alleluia Come Good People, pieces that earned first division at Rochelle on April 6, and rehearse for a Spring Concert on May 27 with a four part program.

Auditorium crowd enjoys three one act plays Imer No Greater Love and If Women Worked As Men Do directed by six senior girls under Miss Doris Burritt.
