Sterling High establishes The Pep Club with 75 members to boost school spirit. Members plan bake sales at Bickford's Pharmacy on November 24 and December 13 to fund new cheer uniforms and promote skits, cheers, and student support at games.
Today December 19 bake sale at Frank's Market by the Junior Red Cross to raise funds for a spring banquet and Red Cross program. Members plan posters, vaudeville entertainment for veterans hospital in Clinton, and a school fundraiser in cooperation with the Red Cross.
Ann Farrer has been named winner of the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizenship Award for the senior class. The honor recognizes dependability service leadership and patriotism across six area high schools. Farrer participates in Honor Society Robed Choir G A A Hi Tri Campus Club Dramatic Club and more.
Junior Rotarians for this month are Ramon Gonzales Terry Sippel Glen Alderfer Virgil Tegler Richard Crane and Lowell Hunsberger.
Seven seniors will be tapped by National Honor Society members at this afternoon’s assembly in the field house. Induction will be performed by president Ramon Gonzales, with seven existing members listed. Group singing of Christmas songs will close the program before the holiday break.
On November 30 the Junior Class chose co chairmen for the Prom. They are Trudy Worths and John DeWind. They appointed committee chairmen including Decorations Charlice Buyers and Billie Speer, Arrangements Lester Weinstine, Publicity Margo Dillon, Refreshments Mimi Sheldon, Invitations Jean Bloomquist, Tickets Neal Brown, Dance Programs Sheila Musgrove.
