Vocal And Orchestra Concert Set For May 18 At Sterling Gym
Sterling Township high school presents an annual spring vocal and orchestra concert on Thursday night May 18 at 7 30. Vocal director David Stryker leads a robed choir and girls chorus with J J Richards directing the orchestra. The program features a male quartet, piano solos by Cathryn Detweiler, and the 50 member mixed chorus performing pieces by various composers. The girls chorus sings three part arrangements with Pat Marquis at the piano. Admission is free and many seniors perform their last school concert.

Behrens and Habben represented Sterling at the State Convention of the Farmers at the University of Illinois during Easter vacation. Wayne Friedrichs won a 100 dollar war bond and plaque as Efficient Milk Production Contest winner. Habben earned the State Farmer degree with a gold key. Sterling chapter won the sectional contest among 20 vocational agriculture schools.

Mountain Climber Bowser To Lecture At Assembly

Youth Center Plans To Serve Through Summer
The Youth Center Council met at the Y M C A on April 18 to map the rest of the school year and the summer season. A constitution will be drawn to provide organisation and maintenance next year with Johnnie Stager as constitutional chair. Maurie Bruckman’s Band Plays Tulip Time At Coliseum
The junior senior prom themed Tulip Time lights the Coliseum with an 11 piece Maurie Bruckman band to entertain from 8:30 to 12. Hosts are the junior class if dues are paid with seniors as invited guests. A floor show features 16 juniors and the event management lists committees and chairmen for decoration, orchestra, refreshments, publicity, invitations, and programs.

Graduation Exercises Scheduled For June 6 At High School
The senior class cement exercises are set for the evening of June 6 at the high school stadium with a rain date the next evening. Baccalaureate is planned for Sunday evening June 4 at St. John's Lutheran Church. Senior exams run June 1 and 2 while underclassmen take exams June 5 and 6.
