The SHS girls' PE Department offers swimming volleyball field hockey basketball tennis softball and badminton plus modern dance. Four teachers Miss Baxter head of department Miss Burrus Miss Jones and Miss Brockman guide students in athletic skill and sportsmanlike participation with regular posture and exercise sessions.

Easter Sunrise Service Held by YMYW Coed Council
The YMYW Coed Council sponsored the Easter Sunrise Service at First Congregational Church on April 2 at 6 30 am with organ prelude by Betty Kalkwarf and a call to worship by Janet Axelson. Chuck Hansen gave the responsive reading and Jo Peterson read scripture before Dave Casey delivered the sermon. A breakfast followed at the YMCA with planning by Dave Casey and the council advisers Mrs Henry Poston and Mr Jim Snider.
