A new garage opened in the former Ed Davis blacksmith shop. Owner C. F. Hardesty of Marveville Kansas advertises the opening. The business promises full service and local friendliness to the town, with Hardesty’s knowledge of his craft highlighted.
Terhune’s fastest group of dog stories will run in the Steele City Press under the title Love for Dog Owners. The first tale appears in the next issue, promising an appealing collection from a master of the short story.
Weekly community roundup lists residents and visitors with health updates travel news school plans and social events. The column notes illnesses improvements outings trips to Lincoln Lincoln University visits to Wesleyan and other towns along with family gatherings and local business activity.

Loring Wertz Brown born May 21 1888 in Newburyport Massachusetts died at 87 years 3 months and 22 days at his daughter Mrs S P Deems home near Steele City Nebraska He had lived in Mendota Illinois Lincoln Lancaster County and Steele City He married Martha Cushman of Wilmington Vermont and had three children Clara M Deems Edwin L Brown and Gilbert S Brown Funeral services were held by Rev Ness at the Deems home and the body laid to rest beside his wife in Lincoln Nebraska.
