For School Days Now the children are back in school and we offer boys school suits made of durable fabrics. These outfits meet demands for sturdy, presentable garments that endure school life while combining sensible style with practicality.
Wilts Bros install a modern film projector in the Steele City opera house with shows twice weekly starting this Saturday. First feature When Baby Forgot follows a child reuniting divorced parents, drawing local crowds. Several local residents, including Ed Thrapp and Bethel Talcott, are noted in daily activities and visits.
Demonstration tests by R H Camp Thurston County agricultural agent with seven farmers show oats treated for smut yield 7.8 bushels per acre more than untreated seed. Smut presence dropped to trace in treated fields versus 10 percent in untreated. Treatment costs 5 cents per acre.

Tuesday afternoon a westbound passenger train struck the front end of Chester Pearson’s automobile as he tried to cross the track near his farm. Both Chester and Mrs Pearson escaped serious injury by a narrow margin after the car blocked the gate and was struck on the railroad. The train halted and crew recorded the incident for headquarters. Separately Secretary McAdoo announced the Liberty Loan II campaign will close November 1, 1917 with details to follow after Congress acts. The Bank Reserve districts will supervise as fiscal agents.
