Schools begin in Steele City with 107 in high school and 80 in grades. Birth announced for Ross and Mrs Pickering’s son. Hay harvest noted. several residents travel or return from trips. Local religious events and social gatherings reported along with a theft arrest involving Art O Keefe and companion.
J F Maw former Steele City resident died at his Meridian Idaho home on August 24 from Bright's disease. The item notes other local matters including Albert Shepherd selling a 10 acre farm to Roy Schell and plans to relocate to Endicott. It mentions Dr Taylor treating the Coles daughter, Rev Hinkle reporting A B Todd became lumber yard manager at Riverdale, bridge work on the south river bridge, and visits by F G Simmons and G W Coons along with travel plans for Mr and Mrs Coons to Washington.

The Fahrenwald family will move to Nye Oregon tomorrow, and David Coons left Wednesday for Hayes County Alaska for a several months visit.
