Amaryllis Barber daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Barber suffered a painful mouth injury Monday morning after a bed fall. Teeth bent toward the roof, gums torn, doctors in Fairbury deemed dental work risky as healing began. Subsequent reports said her pain decreased and teeth appeared to straighten.
The Womans Club meets on September 20 with Mrs. Thompson leading devotionals and talks on American citizenship by Mrs. Gretzinger and Mrs. Lowe. Roll call lists Mrs. B. Tinkham and her Powell Nebraska children. Mrs. L. Guilford of Steele City visited Washington last week with her mother and returned Sunday.
Mr and Mrs A Manning stay at the Roy James home while Mr and Mrs James attend the Kansas State Fair in Topeka Kansas. Mrs Albert Williams and children ofMarysville visit her parents Mr and Mrs I Woods last week returning home Sunday. Jefferson County corn crop ripening nicely and looks to yield a fine harvest as it matures.
Gage County reports widespread crop damage from late spring freezes. Plums failed. a woman brought in two quarts from a canvas-covered tree. Early season cherries sold for 8 dollars per bushel, with prices as high as 10 dollars per bushel.
Carl Dayman Roy Waller and numerous locals visited friends and family this Sunday with short trips to Topeka Emporia and Denver noted.
