The R N A Lodge gathered at Mrs E Shultz home for a miscellaneous shower for Mrs Emma Downs. She received many gifts and, at a late hour, enjoyed refreshments of ice cream and wafers. All departed wishing Mr and Mrs Downs a long and happy life.
The Union Pacific asks for old stage coaches, pony express saddles, and similar relics. A late-stage coach at Cheyenne has become a popular historic display, attracting passenger interest and photographs. The railroad plans to place more relics along its lines for viewing by travelers.
J F Lanmann from Diller, Republican candidate for state representative, was in town Monday to look after his interests ahead of the upcoming election.
Ladies of the North Church and congregation met to approve selling the church building for 300 dollars to finance a new basement. Capt Andrews donated to accelerate work. A building committee led by Gretzinger and including Clark Andrews Garrett was elected with Ken dell as treasurer to oversee the project.
Miss Margaret L. Coons of Clarkston Washington wed Earl White of New Meadows Idaho in Grangeville Idaho on Sept 25 26. She is a Coons of Clarkston formerly of Steele City Nebr a Clarkston High School graduate 1922 and Lewiston State Normal August this year. She has taught at Princeton Idaho and is in her fourth teaching term and will continue this year. They will reside in Clarkston this winter. Mr White is a barber by trade.
Mrs Arner was surprised with a birthday party last Friday evening at the home of Mr and Mrs Mike Riddle. Friends gathered early, played games, and shared refreshments around a three layer cake. Guests included Mr and Mrs Mike Riddle Mr and Mrs Joe Davis Mr and Mrs Hubert Manning Mr and Mrs Emil Harris and Ralph Aimer.
