A fragmentary poem about a movie theater night and a romance ends with a public notice of Fairbury’s special election. The article notes the defeat of a proposition to switch Fairbury’s government form from mayor and council to a two councilman and a judge system in a largely light voter turnout of 395.

Royal Neighbors Social Reported In Hall

The Royal Neighbors held a social in the hall Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Lambert visited relatives in Guide Rock Nebraska this week. Mrs. I. E. Beach spent several days with her daughter Mrs. Frank Wells, who has been sick. The post office was moved Wednesday evening to Jane's store with Miss Mayme in charge.

Birth announced a boy to Mr and Mrs Ray Justis. Numerous brief visits and visits throughout the region include Mrs Listie Palmer with Mrs Ed Zweifel, Chas Seitz to St Joseph with stock, Harry Fielder and family at Ed Correll's, Leiteen visiting relatives in Hanover, Otto Leitzen and Geo Patterson in Fairbury, and the Liberty Embroidery Club meeting with Mrs Bratten. Several trips and family visits connect residents of Odell Morrowville Steele City Idaho and Eminem with relatives and friends.

Prize Baby Master Clement Harriss Praised at State Fair

Clement Lowell Harriss, two year old son of Mr and Mrs R C Harriss of Fairbury, earned second place in the Better Baby contest at the Lincoln state fair. Among about four thousand entries, the Harriss claim pride in their child’s showing and a cash prize of 9.
