A miscellaneous shower for Miss Velma Bundy was held at Vera Staley home with Darling as assistant hosts on Thursday evening. Twenty six guests enjoyed games and found hidden gifts as storm clocks rang. Dainty refreshments concluded the event.
Mrs Ralph Arner hosted a Wednesday bridge party with two tables of players. High score went to Mrs Joe Bevis and low to Mrs Casler. Guests included Mesdames Davis Riddle Phelps Manning Clark Casler and Miss Gretzinger. A lunch followed the games.
Six oclock dinner was served Tuesday evening November 22 at Misa Neilie Drake's home. The occasion honored Miss Eva Thrapp who is spending her vacation at home. Guests included Eva Thrapp Fern Kiskall Grayce Deems and Mrs Ed Pingle.
Mrs R S Wilfrey hosted a four course dinner at 6 80 o clock Monday evening honoring Mr Wilfreys birthday. Twelve covers were set with yellow tapers and chrysanthemums. Guests included Robi Garrett, Guy Cassell, Lee Earhart, Frank Lowe, Luther Bonham of Fairbury. After dinner the evening featured music and short stories.
Guests from Gladstone Fairbury and local families attended a birthday dinner for Mrs Carl Schultz Sunday. The afternoon was spent in conversation and celebrations with Mr and Mrs Krauser and family among those present.
Mr and Mrs John Godden hosted a card party at their home on November 20 with guests Mr and Mrs Ed Hughes Mr and Mrs Ralph Arner and family Messrs Hubert Manning and Mariel Krots The game ended in a tie between Hughes Arner and Manning Godden Refreshments were served.
