The Steele City High School commencement was held at the Hall on May 20. Nine graduates received diplomas as Dr. E B Dean of Doane College gave the address. Class president Willie Abrends led the ceremony with a class history and prophecy, and bids were extended to the Freshmen. Modern Woodmen of America lodge initiated eight candidates that night.

Steele City defeated Barnston 7 to 6 on Sunday in a close baseball matchup held at the local field. Barnston pushed the lead early, but Steele City rallied with key hits and pitching to seal the win.
