Steele City High School holds first graduation in opera house
Last Friday Steele City celebrated its first twelfth grade commencement at the opera house. Despite rain a full house enjoyed a program featuring Maude Willey piano, Rev Hinkle invocations, Henry Abrams vocal, and remarks by Rev Orrill of Fairbury on “The Path to Power.” Diplomas were presented by Allen T. Phelps. Beulah Babcock won a four year college scholarship with 95 plus, Hallie James second, Hazel Condit third. Ten graduates named Beulah Babcock Elsie Bugbee Hazel Condit Hallie James Carrie Wright DeWitt Sherman Bryant.
