Tragic Drowning Near Fairbury In Rose Creek
A farmer named Wiggins and his six year old son drowned while crossing Rose Creek five miles south of Fairbury after heavy rains. They slipped from a log as the boy fell in and the father jumped in to save him but both were swept away by the swift current. The younger boy was recovered Sunday but the body of the child remained missing through Wednesday.
