Picnic at Steele City School Ends in Accident
Steele City pupils and teachers held a picnic at the schoolhouse after closing day. Cold weather and rain marked the week. A hunt led to two small coyotes spotted by Charlie Weddel and D Remmers, and during a canyon outing Miss Margaret Hayner suffered a bad accident when a flying stick fragment struck her.

Mrs Hinkle Heads North to Nemaha and Back
Mrs E H Hinkle and her daughter Gladys left Monday for Nemaha Nebraska to visit and help with moving to Sioux City Iowa. The editor traveled to Nehawka to see his ailing father whose death occurred Tuesday night. Funeral today at one O clock. Woman's Club met May 6 electing new officers and welcoming three new members. Twenty two attended with music by Mrs Andrews and Mrs Millice and a luncheon of wafers strawberries and cream.

Automobiles Collide Near Diller Wounding Specht Family
Saturday evening about eight the Specht family and their guests met a serious crash while returning from Diller. An unnamed car attempted to pass and struck Specht’s vehicle causing it to overturn and eject its occupants. Mrs. Geo Specht suffered the most severe injuries. others were hurt lightly. The damaged auto’s occupants were driven home by the uninjured party.
