The Ladies Aid of the Congregational church met at Mrs. J. F. Zoollin. Mrs. L. Peterson entertained Ada Comstock Beasie Rycker Sara Coleman Blanche Rolston Edith Wilson Lena King and Mandy Willey at 7 pm. The Primary class of the M E Sunday school were hosted by Eva Thrapp with Pearl Hansen assisting. Children played games and refreshments were served.

Monument Dedicated At Oregon Trail Marker Unveiling
The Oregon Trail Monument near the state line at Jefferson and Gage counties Nebraska was unveiled Tuesday with Gov Hodges of Kansas and Gov Morehead of Nebraska attending. The eight foot granite pillar bears inscriptions on three sides noting the trail’s history from 1842 and its cross into California Utah and Colorado. The dedication included a moving picture and Hanover band with support from local residents and the Elizabeth Montague Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution Beatrice Nebraska.

Lanham Kansas post office name changes from Nebraska
A Washington DC order changes the office name from Lanham Nebraska to Lanham Kansas. The Hanover Democrat notes the Kansas site has long been the better one and the order only shifts the state designation, not the location or function.
