Literary finale caps season with local gathering

The final literary program was held Tuesday night with Mr. Olsen, a former high school teacher, visiting town. The event drew many residents as Miss Gear and Mr James announced plans for a Hartzell farm home. The Little Clodhopper play drew praise and the crowd packed the hall showing strong community support.

Local Hog Market Sets Top Price at 14.10

Jefferson county Nebraska dealer Wolf from Washington county Kansas sent 59 Duroc Jersey hogs to the local market Thursday totaling 328 pounds average. The shipment sold at the extreme top price of 14.10 per hundredweight, reflecting Wolf’s large scale cattle and hog business and his long history of topping trade in distant markets.

Last Ladies Aid Meeting Set for April First

Last Ladies Aid at North Church held its final meeting of the year on Wednesday the 18th. Officers were elected for the coming year with Pres. Mrs Wim. Pearson and others named. A flower committee and corresp. secretary were listed. The next event, an April 1st drive, invites all members to attend and bring dues.

Ladies Aid elect officers and report net profit

The Ladies Aid elected officers with Mrs North as president and Mrs Palmer as vice president. Mrs Samp son was secretary and Mrs Barber praised for her efforts. The group raised over $235 at a January 16 banquet, leaving a net profit of about $60 after expenses. The auxiliary is seen as worthy of its aims.
