Funeral Services for F W Beckwith Held at Steele City

Funeral services for F W Beckwith were conducted by Rev Clark and Rev Pfautz at 2 30 on March 21 with interment in Steele City cemetery. Attending from a distance were Emma Graves Stis Mo James Edmonds of Neb Mr and Mrs F Laan and Mr and Mrs Harry Lauch of Council Bluffs. Beckwith born Sept 1 1852 in McDonough NY came to Elgin Ill in 1872 and Nebraska in 1874. He married Francis Seeber in 1878 and settled on the farm he owned until his death at age 74 years 6 months 19 days on March 19 1927.

The Royal Neighbors of Ica held a pleasant meeting on Wednesday night with a handkerchief shower for Oracle Jennie Willey. Committee in charge of entertainment were Freda Kuper and Helen Wehbling. Refreshments were served by Irene Cassell and Bethel Cassell.
