A $500 reward is posted by Sheriff F. M. Tippin of Fairbury Nebraska for the arrest and conviction of the thief or thieves who stole four hogs from A. H. Gretzinger on the cited night. Informants must come in by midnight May 1 1927 via wire or letter.
Local items note Miss Doris McNannan and Mr John Knocke as Sunday visitors of Miss Fern McClellan. Many residents travel visiting relatives in Grand Island, Omaha, Madrid and Waterville while others host or attend family gatherings and church activities.
Local women’s groups including the Womans Missionary Society and the Steele City Womans Club announce upcoming gatherings with hostesses Mrs Riddle and Mrs Carl McDonald. February and March programs feature recipes donations readings and a library book drive. The Onaway club reports an afternoon meeting at Mrs Harold Packer with a basket supper and social games. Public initiation by Knights of Pythias noted.

Pfautz leads Sunday School at 10 A M and church services at 11 A M with evening worship at 7 30 P M The Christian Endeavor group meets at 7 P M followed by choir rehearsal Also notes church move lumber transport Monday Pfautz attends Crete on church business and thanks volunteers for the new site support The concert Sunday evening drew a large crowd and was well received by all attendees.

Thieves took four large hogs from A H Gretzinger farm during the night of February 26. A truck backed into the pen and hogs were loaded possibly after masking or gas. A $500 reward was raised by local business people, farmers, and citizens for capture of those involved. Poultry losses have also been reported, prompting calls for united security actions.
