A Dunn credit statistics representative visited Fairbury on Tuesday to collect information to evaluate the credit standing of local business houses. Read Bros. remains a recommended stopping place for travelers, as several road shows have recently stopped there presenting good shows.
Mrs F V Lowe returns from Indianola Nebraska. G B Cassell ships three cattle cars to St Joe. Irvin Sinn visits from Alexandria. Miss Weltha Babcock attends Chicago summer school. Woman's Club meets at Mrs Chester Wilcox. Birth announced for June 8 at John Beckman residence. Farmers report 1.3 inch rain with a minor electrical storm. Mrs E E Shultz and daughters to California via Cozad. Mr Justis, Denver secretary, visits Palmer home.

Fire at Marysville Mill and Elevator Co. destroyed the building and machinery. Loss estimated over 100000 dollars. Fire believed caused by spontaneous combustion. Mill had capacity of 3000 barrels per day and was built four years ago. Hanover Herald reports.
An extra west bound freight derailed near Haworth after passing Washington Monday evening. Four cars left the track, repairs took hours, and passenger trains ran several hours late Tuesday and Wednesday. No injuries reported and the cause remains unknown.
