Gara Beaselle celebrated the Fourth in Lincoln while Wem Barber owns a new Studebaker coach advertised by F. A. Moon & Son in Fairbury Nebr. since 1886.
Community notes from Steele City span visitors and local travels from July Fourth. Names include Frank Bryant, Francis Clark and family, D. B. Meyers, Ray Barber, Lola Pethoud, and many Fairbury, Hubbell, and Lincoln connections. A large sale at the Press office and a barn fire at Capt. Andrews farm are also recorded along with church activities and a parade of local offices and vendors.
Feature of the Fourth of July celebration included late afternoon races with prizes of 1 and 50 dollars. In the boys race Faye Craig won, Dwight Lowe was second. among girls Leah Woode led with Charlotte Wilton second. Doria Greenwood led the larger girls with a second place.
A resident from Endicott spent the Fourth of July holiday in Lincoln, enjoying celebrations away from home.
The notice lists a church gathering the Japanese Caroivel on Thursday evening in Hinner Grove with Rev Blough and wife among attendees. Several local residents, including Mr and Mrs Geo Bennett of Sparke Kanase, visit Riggie home for a few days.
