Church calendar for Steele City Presbyterian Church lists Sunday School at 9:00 AM, Church Service at 11:00 AM, Christian Endeavor at 7:00 PM, Evening Service at 7:30 PM, and mid week choir rehearsals. It highlights Bible reading groups, February Matthew sermons, and a Mother and Daughter banquet with Mrs. Westphal as speaker.
Advertisement notes a good young cow just fresh two weeks to two months with seller Harry Coons seeking a buyer for livestock.
Mrs. Sutton has been living with her daughter at Doniphan and came down to stay for a time at least.

Miss Francis Crinklaw and Edna Jame hosted a surprise party at Lila McDonald home for the two honorees on January 14. Guests numbered about twelve and the guests moved to McDonalds Cafe for a two course luncheon with gifts received.
The Neb Federation of Womens Clubs hosted a lively evening for their husbands at the R S Wilfrey residence. Members organized games recipes and New Year resolutions exchange while guests enjoyed hot parker house rolls chicken salad and raisin pies concluding with grateful thanks to the Wilfrey couple for the use of their home.
Steele City high school basketball teams won all three games on Friday night. Freshmen beat Endicott 22 to 1. The home girls defeated Odell 47 to 7. The first team beat Endicott 20 to 2.
The Sunday School Class at Mrs. H Manning's home held a covered dish supper Friday evening in Nellie Drake's honor. A shower of cups and saucers was given. After supper the group attended the film One Minute to Play featuring Red Grange. Ten members attended and enjoyed the evening.
Edith Wilson and Ray Barber were married in St. Joseph on Sunday January 9 1927. They visited Kansas City with his brother and wife before returning home to 1005 D Street. Edith Wilson is Clyde Wilsons sister and long time bookkeeper at the Be Hested store. Ray Barber has worked for Read Furniture Co. for several years.
Mr and Mrs Frank Manley shared a six o clock dinner at the Thad Shepherd residence on Sunday. Jess Manley remains homebound due to illness with limited mobility. Also advertisement for New Spring Coats at Paris Cloak and Suit Co Fairbury promoting fresh styles and colors.

Hog and chicken calling will be judged at the Lyric in Steele City in connection with a picture show this Saturday evening January 29. The event reflects growing popularity of radio driven contests alongside old fiddlers contests.
An upcoming entertainment event will bring unique acts not seen before on this stage. Contestants will perform their pieces at length and audience members are invited to bring pets to test animal recognition of being called.
