Beatrice Be held Thanksgiving day for Conductor Spence killed in Beatrice. A special motor trip from Hanover to Fairbury aided attendees. Local families and visitors gathered at Steele City for dinners and a pigeon shoot, with Cal Clark claiming two birds in one shot.

Sarah Emeline Wheeler Hunnicutt born September 24 1853 in Cuba Fulton Illinois died November 23 1910 at her home near Steele City Nebraska aged 57 1 29. She married Israel Hunnicutt June 28 1867 and had six children. She joined the Methodist church about 32 years ago and retained her faith. She leaves a husband five children two sisters one brother eight grandchildren and many friends.

Veterans of Thanksgiving themes appear with pieces by Roy Seeber Theodore Zoellin Frantes Cox and Winnie Card. The event includes solos and group numbers in a Bethel area school program held Tuesday afternoon last week.
Death reports Mrs Lena Roderick of Endicott Nebraska after a month long illness from diphtheria. Born January 5 1891 in Hamburg Iowa she was married December 21 1909 to Arthur Roderick. Survived by husband parents four brothers and four sisters with funeral services conducted by Rev McVay in Steele City cemetery setting.
